Dallas Copper Bandits

A graphic image set illustrates the gruesome fates of two copper thieves in Dallas. It’s a good study in what electricity can do – if you are stupid.

Downtown Dallas job over the weekend. They were trying to pull a hot 13,200 volt copper wire out of a conduit. Note the bolt cutter and the copper wire on the ground. It still stinks out here! How the hell can they not know that this sub-station was super hot? No problem – they won’t bother ones again!

So if you are stupid enough to fuck with hot wire, you’re a fucking dumbass.  I have no empathy for you.  It looks like only one of the guys was doing it and then the other tried to grab his friend…

DON’T DO THIS! IF SOMEONE IS GETTING ELECTROCUTED, DO NOT GRAB THEM-IF THEY ARE HUNG UP ON A STRAIGHT CONNECTION, HIT THEM WITH A STICK.  YOU WILL GET HUNG UP WITH THEM IF YOU COME INTO CONTACT WITH THEM.

And for those of you (won’t mention any names) that I know that use a butter knife, saw-zaw blade, fork, or whatever to steal your electricity…You think you know what you’re doing but you have no fucking idea!

So now, if you die-or get electrocuted- don’t say you didn’t know.

THE MOST PAINFUL DEATH IN HISTORY
83 days waiting for death!

On the 30th of September 1999, a Japanese laboratory technician named Hisashi Ouchi suffered the worst radiation burns in history after an accidental explosion of uranium solution.

He was then kept alive against his will for three shocking months because doctors tried unsuccessfully to save him.

As the radiation made its unstoppable way through Ouchi's body, his skin began to dissolve and his eyes began to bleed.

Worse, however, was that the experimental treatments performed by the doctors had no effect.

Ouchi cried out in despair and pain: "I can't take it anymore." I'm not a guinea pig. "

But even though he begged to die, doctors kept him alive for 83 days at the pressure of his family.

In one day, doctors resuscitated Ouchi three times within an hour after suffering three heart attacks.

It was only when he suffered his final cardiac arrest due to multi-organ failure that his torture finally ended.

THE MYSTERIOUS PALACE

Many years ago I faced the biggest fear of my life. There is a mansion that exists in my village, very close to our family house in Anambra state.

According to history, it was formerly a king's palace. He died mysteriously in the palace along with 6 of his servants, wife, and Children. History has it that he was murdered alongside his family in cold blood right in the house.

When the new king was crowned he refused to remain in the palace of a murdered king, instead, he built for himself a new palace and left the palace of the new king deserted and the gates locked. No one was allowed into the house to clean or touch it.

Months later, people reported that they heard voices in the kings palace and felt someone had gone there to live inside.

The new king sent guards to that palace but they never returned. The gate was shut close before the very eyes of the villagers standing outside.

It was at that point, people realized that the king's spirit still lived in the palace.

Many years passed and my parents and I traveled to the village. I was fifteen by this time and had totally ignored this story. As someone who had gotten used to city life, I ignored the tales of ghosts and spirits haunting mansions and took them as stories meant to scare people.

While plucking mangoes one evening, I heard the sounds of children in the compound. From the tree, I could see the compound but couldn't see the children.

So I decided to scale the fence to take a look properly. The moment my feet landed on the floor of the palace, I felt a wind blow right through me. I heard my name twice. It felt like my mother's voice.

I answered.

"Ma" and ran towards the entrance of the palace.

As I approached, the door opened on its own and I ran into the large quiet palace only to hear the door close behind me. It was the strong sound that made me shudder in fear.

I saw skulls of humans in the house. Shoes and slippers scattered.

Suddenly I heard laughter.

I heard screams.

I heard my father's voice. It appeared he was talking to someone upstairs.

Then I heard my name again and a sudden pat on my shoulders.

I fell backward and screamed

"Jesus."

I heard a sound of laughter echo upstairs.

Sounds of running feet circled me. Yet I was not able to see anyone close to me.

I quickly stood up and ran to the entrance of the door dragged it open and ran out screaming.

All I kept shouting was Jesus!

I shouted as loud as I could.

As I ran, I felt a wind slow me down. It was as if my feet were being held. I quickly jumped and grabbed the fence of the house and rolled myself over the fence to the other side.

I fell right on my stomach in my compound.

The first person who saw me was my father. He was just stepping out of the house. He screamed for help and everyone in the house rushed out.

My white cloth was covered in blood.

Mysterious marks appeared on my body.

I was asked what I saw, and all I told them were skulls of humans, a sword, and what seemed to be a warrior's cloth and shoes.

At that point, my dad confirmed that the history he was told as a child was real.

No one till today believed I escaped that.

So we never told the story to anyone else till date.

That palace still exists till today and no one has dared to enter.

Here's a Photo of Snakes That Got Electrocuted After One Tried to Bite the Other

A revolting photo shows two snakes that got electrocuted as one bit the other inside a home electrical box.

Workers for the electrical services department in Morganton, N.C., found the reptiles when they went to turn off power at a house that was scheduled to be demolished, according to a post on the Facebook page for the city government: "One snake slithered across two hot terminals and was electrocuted; The second snake was biting the first and received the jolt as well.

HOW A SNAKE-EATING HAWK STARTED A HUGE MONTANA WILDFIRE

Volunteer firefighter Kyra Vanisko found the fire-starting hawk with its prey still in its talons.

Earlier this week, a fire blazed through about 40 acres of Montana grassland. For about an hour, the flames burned across the dry landscape in the northern part of the state, about 155 miles south of the Canadian border. The cause was a mystery until a volunteer firefighter finally found the crisped culprit. When she found the burned body of a hawk clutching a snake, she knew she'd found the spark.

Said firefighter, Kyra Vanisko, of the Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, was "mopping up hot spots" in the scorched grassland when she found the hawk by a power pole. ""We had been chasing that 40-acre grass fire for a while," Vanisko told Newsweek. "We had no idea what caused the fire, so finding the cause by accident was a pleasant surprise."

How exactly did the hungry hawk start the conflagration? The catalyst, explains EarthTouchNews, was power lines. Birds sitting on these lines don't get electrocuted, because they aren't connected to the ground. Same goes for squirrels or other small animals that use power lines as a byway. But touch two lines at a time and the animals become electrocuted.

Some birds do have a wingspan wide enough to touch two power lines at once. But that's not what happened in Montana. The problem there was that the bird was holding some very wriggly prey: a snake, to be specific. The burned reptile was found still clutched by the talons of the dead hawk.

"It’s just cooked. Fell off the power pole and started the fire," firefighter Kyra Vanish said on Facebook.

Dave Lee, acting assistant chief with the Black Eagle Fire Department, said he was fairly certain that this predator-and-prey duo was responsible for the fire. "A dead hawk was found burned, and it had contacted the power lines," said Lee. Both the snake and the bird had been electrocuted, indicating that both had touched the charged lines.

Sparks from the electrocuted animals falling to the ground were enough to kindle a fire in this parched landscape. "Thankfully everyone (except for the hawk and snake) is okay," Vanisko said on Facebook. She was not able to identify the species of the hawk. "He's a crispy critter," she told the Great Falls Tribune. According to EarthTouchNews, the firefighters caught some flack for not rescuing the hawk and snake. But, says Vanisko, they were already "very dead."

The Montana blaze wasn't the first to be started by a snake-toting raptor. In 2015, fire rescue workers in San Diego reported that the same pairing had started a fire in La Jolla, California. Power outages from animals shocked by power lines are also not uncommon. Vanisko has seen a fire started by a magpie, and several in the same area caused by squirrels.

This most recent wildfire stood out not only because of its unusual cause but because of the challenge it posed to Vanisko and her fellow volunteers. "This particular fire kicked our butts because of the location," she says. Hills and coulees made extinguishing it difficult, as did the fact that it was in an old city landfill with burning trash underneath the soil.

The event and resulting photographs also brought some much-needed joy to the firefighting team. Four days earlier, the chief of the volunteer department died. "This goofy picture provided a bit of comic relief when we needed it," says Vanisko.

This story has been updated with additional information about the fire from Kyra Vanisko.

Emaciated British soldiers after their release from Japanese captivity in Singapore, 1945.

Five emaciated former prisoners of war sitting on the steps of an ambulance in Singapore following their release from captivity in Sumatra. Holding the newspaper is Sergeant Jack King RM, formerly of HMS Prince of Wales, while standing next to him, with the distinctive chest tattoo, is Private Tom Wardrope of 2nd Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

The brutal treatment inflicted upon these men by their Japanese captors is clearly illustrated by their poor physical condition. The newspaper the soldier was reading is “Daily Express”, dated September 5th, 1945. The headline: “30th Day in Hiroshima: Those who escaped begin to die, victims of – The Atomic Plague”.

These British prisoners were held on the Changi POW camp. Often thought to be synonymous with horror it was in fact a relatively comfortable camp, at least compared to those on Borneo, Ambon, Hainan, Japan, and the Thai–Burma railway.

The Japanese used the POWs at Changi for forced labor. Men were made to work in the docks where they loaded munitions onto ships. They were also used to clear sewers damaged in the attack on Singapore. As the end of the Pacific War approached, rations to the prisoners of war were reduced drastically.

To be more precise ration scales were reduced even for the Japanese as resupply from outside Malaya/Singapore became more difficult as the war progressed.

It must be noted that at the same time Japanese front-line troops were dying of starvation in New Guinea (and turning cannibal if eye-witness accounts are to be believed).

Individuals experiencing starvation
lose substantial fat and muscle mass as the body breaks down these tissues for energy. Depending on the level of starvation the full recovery might take as long as one year. There have been cases when prisoners have died from eating too much afterward.

This is called Refeeding Syndrome which is a syndrome consisting of metabolic disturbances that occur as a result of reinstitution of nutrition to patients who are starved or severely malnourished. That’s why recovering patients are only to be given water, milk, and juices for the first 3-5 days of recovery.
When individuals who are starving suddenly get given a bunch of food, their body switches quickly from eating itself to rebuilding. This causes big shifts of minerals out of the blood and into the cells, and blood levels plummet, where previously they were being artificially maintained.

It’s actually got a mortality rate of about 20%. Most of the research on it was done after all these individuals getting out of POW camps were stuffed with food and died instead of recovering. They need to slowly bring starving people back to normal calorie diets, and watch their blood chemistry closely.
