Adamawa state of Nigeria Police Arrests 25-year-old Man For Stoning His 2 Children To Death

The Adamawa State Police Command of Nigeria has apprehended a man for allegedly stoning his two children to death.

The command said its operatives apprehended 25-year-old Elisha Tari on Friday, August 18, after he allegedly murdered two of his children aged
between three and five years in the Himikidu community of Michika Local Government.

The incident was reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Michika, by the grandfather of the victims, the police said.

The Command, in a statement signed and sent to newsmen Saturday afternoon by police spokesman Suleiman Nguroje, said Tari killed the children with stones and sticks “which he had used in hitting them on their heads severally.”

According to the statement, “Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim’s mother got separated from the suspect two months ago after they had a misunderstanding.”

.
The police explained that the suspect was arrested while he was trying to escape to the Cameroon Republic, and is currently in Police custody undergoing interrogation. The police furthermore said part of the investigations is for operatives to ascertain why the man would use stones and sticks to kill his children.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sikiru Akande, who expressed his sadness over the in-human act, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police CID to take over the investigation and ensure prosecution of the suspect to serve as deterrent to others,” the statement added.

Man who killed bride on their wedding night and stuffed body in suitcase is jailed for life

The man who murdered his new bride just hours after they tied the knot has been handed a life sentence.

Dawn Walker’s body was found stuffed into a suitcase and "dumped" in a field near the couple’s house.

Her husband Thomas Nutt had severely injured the 52-year-old’s face and neck before he killed her, stuffed her body in a cupboard, and enjoyed a short holiday.

Nutt then phoned police to report his wife missing after he murdered her.

Neighbours originally became suspicious when they noticed Dawn's absence in the town of Lightcliffe, near Halifax.

Locals found her body four days later.

The trial into the horror killing heard how Nutt, also 52, killed Dawn sometime between October 27 - the couple's wedding day - and October 31, 2021, but the judge later said the killing took place on their wedding night itself.

He was found guilty of her murder earlier this month.

Today, August 19, 2022, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years, less 289 days he has spent on remand.

There were cheers from the public gallery as he was sentenced.

In sentencing, his Honour Judge Johnathan Rose told Nutt: "The impact of the sudden and violent death at a time which should have been filled with happiness will no doubt have an effect on those that knew her. The victim impact statements lay bare how this has been for them."

Judge Rose branded Nutt a "bully" and said he did not accept the killer was genuinely remorseful.

He went on to explain why he believed the murder took place on the night of their wedding.

He said: "I am quite sure that is the night you killed her. She didn't answer calls from Kiera on morning of 28th. It was said she had lost her phone in the pub. There was no way of knowing whether that was true or whether you disposed of the phone.

"I am satisfied the texts sent to Kiera at 1am were sent by you. Kiera said the text was not in the language or style of her mother and of your admission you text her pretending to be Dawn on 31st October. Malcolm Crawshaw said at 11pm that evening he heard noises, bumps and thumps. He heard no voices. This went on for about an hour before there was quiet for the rest of the night."

Judge Rose said he was sure this was the brutal attack that took Dawn's life. He also outlined the lengths Nutt went to to cover his tracks, including resisting pressure to ring the police at first and trying to hide the tracks left by the case he dragged her body out in.

He added: "It remains a mystery why you killed this woman who you had hours earlier took as your wife."

Dawn had previously been to the police over an assault she suffered at Nutt's hands but later tried to retract her statements, which Judge Rose told Nutt was "evidence of your control of a woman, even after you had used violence towards you and even after Kimberley Allcock warned her, a warning she tragically chose to ignore."

Kimberley Allcock, who is the former partner Thomas Nutt, had previously told The Mirror how Nutt is an evil woman hater who nearly killed her too and of how she tried to warn Dawn.

Kimberley Allcock bravely tried to warn Dawn Walker after Dawn contacted her on Facebook asking why she had taken a restraining order against him.

Kimberley, 41, explained about Nutt’s brutal rages and sent photos of her injuries from a savage beating.

Dawn, 52, told Kimberley that Nutt "scared the hell out of her" but tragically, she could not persuade her to leave him. The judge referenced Nutt's abuse towards Kimberley during the trial.

Dawn's daughter Kiera Lee told jurors her mum had a feeling "something bad" would happen in the lead-up to her wedding and a neighbour said Dawn had messaged asking if she should "run."

In the trial at Bradford Crown Court, Nutt admitted to killing his wife by pleading guilty to manslaughter but denied murder. However, the jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty after a few hours of deliberation.

The judge made a small reduction to Nutt's sentence because he pled guilty to manslaughter.

Dawn’s family cheered as the verdict was returned.

As he was led away, Nutt muttered "f*** you".

'He just saw red': 99-year-old man divorces wife after discovering she had an affair SIXTY years ago.

A furious 99 year old man is divorcing his wife of 77 years after he discovered she had an affair more than 60 years ago.

The couple, who have been identified only as Antonio and Rosa, have both consulted lawyers and the first hearing in the case is due to take place in March.

Jealous father-of-five Antonio saw red after he discovered dust covered romantic letters from his wife to her secret lover during a clear out of their apartment in Rome.

The couple had tied the knot in Naples in 1934, where Antonio had met Rosa after he had been sent there to serve in the carabinieri paramilitary police but she had had an affair with her unidentified lover ten years later, keeping the secret to herself until now.

Lawyer Anna Orecchioni said: 'The husband decided to file for divorce after finding the love letters.

'He felt betrayed and unable to carry on with the marriage which has lasted 77 years.

'It made no difference that the letters were written more than 60 years ago and the relationship has been over for decades.

'He has decided to divorce her and the case has already been submitted for a court hearing in March. The couple have five children and numerous grandchildren and great children.

'It's a shame the marriage has ended in this way after such a long time together.'

The three people were trapped in the house in Guaratiba for 17 years

A woman and two children were kept imprisoned in their home for 17 years - while their captor covered the sound of their cries with pounding music, it's claimed.

Silva was known to locals as 'DJ' - as he'd blast music to cover the family's screams, g1 alleges.

He was arrested following an anonymous report to the police officers arrived at the house described the situation as "appalling" and said the three family members were severely malnourished and dehydrated.

According to neighbours, the two adults appear to be about 10 years old because of malnutrition.

One said: "I cried when I saw her leaving. You looked at her and thought she would be about 8 years old."

A police spokesperson said the priority is to ensure the family receive medical treatment.

He said: "The police officers who first arrived here found these children really tied up.

"Later, I arrived and saw that they were dirty, malnourished. So, the immediate concern was to provide medical assistance."

The victims have been taken to the Rocha Faria Hospital in Rio de Janeiro.

A police spokesperson said the priority is to ensure the family receive medical treatment.

He said: "The police officers who first arrived here found these children really tied up.

"Later, I arrived and saw that they were dirty, malnourished. So, the immediate concern was to provide medical assistance."

In a shocking statement to the police, the woman claimed the three of them suffered severe abuse at the hands of her husband and would go up to three days without eating.

She said her husband never allowed her to work or her children to attend school. She attempted to leave her husband a number of times but he threatened to kill her if she did, it was said.

A Nigerian lady, identified as Glory Smart Emenuwe, from Ezhionum community in Delta State of Nigeria, has narrated how her own mother attempted to kill her for no reason.

In a video interview with a local news outlet, Ukwani Trumpet, the 21-year-old lady recounted how her mother chopped off her two hands and slashed her face with a matchet.

Glory, who disclosed that the incident occurred in 2013 when she was 12-years-old, said her mother had escorted her to urinate at the back of the house at night when she attacked her with the weapon and disfigured her for life.

The young lady said she doesn’t know the reason behind her mother’s action, but noted that she’s deceased now.

Her words,

“What happened to me could be likened to an accident because I never expected it. However, it was my mother that chopped off my hands and slashed my face.

On that fateful day, while I was still very young, I woke up one night wanting to urinate, so my father asked my mother to lead me with a torchlight to the back of our house where I could urinate.

While I squatted to urinate, I didn’t know my mother had a machete in her hand. The next thing I remember was that she descended on me with the machete and I fell down. While I was down, she continued to cut me all over my body and I was screaming. It was then that my father rushed out and collected the machete from her and raised an alarm, which attracted the neighbours.

Unfortunately, by the time my father rushed out, my mother had already accomplished her intention. My father wanted to use the machete on her too but was stopped by the neighbours. Afterwards, my father got my mother arrested by the police. However, she’s late now. The incident happened in Edo State in 2013.”

Glory, who said she has only completed her primary school education due to her condition, is requesting for financial assistance to start up a business to fend for herself or further her education.
